Wait few weeks or months after submiting your file then you can follow this link to see your application. You will need your
UCI or
file number or
receipt number, your
family name, your
date of birth and
contry of birth.
Keep in mind that it's not the most up to date information but you will know when your file was receive when they start processing when they send you correspondence and if medilcal received.
Your UCI remain the same for all your immigration files, for file number you wont have it until they send you a letter or e-mail.

This method only works if you call BEFORE 8AM and wait on the line. Note: The wait will still be around 40 minutes to 1 hour.

You might get lucky if you call during regular business hours. However, the recommended practice is still to call very early before the business hour to guarantee a phone call.
