I've applied for bridging open WP on 1-May and I got the Work Permit in hand on 5-Jun. But they've given it only for 6 months(as opposed to the duration of 1 year which they say in the website). Is that the case with everyone else?

My NOC code is 2173. I've applied for PR under CEC on 19-Nov-2012 and have received AOR and 15-Jan-2013. My existing work permit is set to expire on 30-Aug-2013. I've applied for Bridging open WP on 1-May-2013(which is within 4 months).

I'm not sure if this info would help you but when I was applying for my latest working holiday visa I was issued one that only had a duration of just under 12 months. I thought this was strange so I contacted CIC and they had me fill out a "request for change of status" (I think that was what it was called) form. On the form I stated my case that I should have the entire 24 months as stated on the website. It cost me $30 and within a few weeks I had a new visa issued to me with the full 24 months.

Probably they were thinking that you should get your PR in six months, or you might not. But your case should be clear in the next six months according to processing times, then there is no need for you to get more time than what you need.
It's just my guess. I applied in may 7, I will tell you for how long I get it if I get a positive answer.

Hi there,
As I told you I was gonna to tell you about my case, so here it is:
applied BOWP: May 7th
approval e-mail BOWP: June 11th
Valid through: 10/04/2014 (would it be october or april?)
applied CEC: January 17 2013
So I believe what I was thinking was wrong the time your bowp is valid is not related to the time of your CEC process. 'Cus if that was the case I should have get it around february or march at most.
Hi guys ,, I have one question
I already have open work permit and I m sinp applicant , my cic file is in process . I want to know that can I change my Job with in province ,? And will it effect on my cic file ?
Thanks
