Cong man
can u tell as about the IELTS resources u have ??
Cong again man
God Bless u
Hi Kenzo,
Sure, so I primarliy used two books- Kaplan and Barrons.
Basically, IELTS is not an exam where you have to learn a certain subject. It will test your basic english that you have been using for years. So, all you have to do is -
1. Understand the pattern of the exam
2. Learn strategies to get done with tough kind of questions (like True/False/Not Given kind) in limited amt of time.
So, make sure you read the two books I mentioned above and try out the sample tests in them (with a time limit.)
Also try out the free IELTS exams/tests available on the canadavisa.com site and the videos some teachers have posted on youtube. That should be sufficient.
All the best!

WRITING TIPS:--do the practice test under exam conditions by completing each test in one hour(use a stopwatch/timer).Keep to the suggested time of 20 minutes for writing task 1 and 40 minutes for the writing task 2.
DO NOT USE A DICTIONARY TO HELP YOU
DO NOT USE A COMPUTER TO TYPE YOUR WORK.

hi rg_canada..were u expecting the same result immidiately after taking the exam?
how well did u perform in writing?
Hi Rg_canada,
Would u please give me some idea how to write 250 words in eassy .this is more hard part .help me please.
8th may 2010 IELTS at santa monica CA is tough reading and tap for listen is fast.....
OMM
@aaycee - I can't say that I was expecting the same results with certainity. I knew that my Reading went well. So not surprised seeing that score. Wasn't sure about Listening though. My advice would be not to panic at all. Just go there and take each section one at a time.
@aaycee and shehzad007- Writing seems to be the easiest section of all.
- As long as you don't make any grammatical or spelling mistakes, you should be fine.
- Try to think for a few mins first as to how you plan to write - opening, middle, conclusion
- Make sure you organize your ideas well in paragraphs.
Hope this helps..
