I AM A VICTIM OF CRIME HERE IN NYC AND MY ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS IS STILL PENDING WITH USCIS .I WAS GRANTED U VISA .DUE TO HUGE BACKLOG IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 5 years.as I am not feeling safe and comfortable due to flashbacks of incident in which I get badly injured.

I want to move to Canada .any advice at this stage to file asylum or refugee at airport…..please help if I am on wrong path

Realistically, not going to happen. US is considered a safe country and part of the safe third country agreement with Canada. You also have the option of internal flight....the US is a big place. The U visa may also have preconditions attached to it given what they issue them for. Majority of claims from the US are rejected.

I called ICC today, the agent told me we can approve we received your document. Medical done criminal done biometrics done but eligibility hasn’t started yet. But I can not see any of those on my gckey account.

processing outside Quebec is around 2 years so you’re still well within normal processing times.
