Hey Turquoise, I was wondering if you went to Vienna to get your Visa (if you got it that is, i hopee) did you end up picking it up in person? What did your PPR say if you dont mind me asking? I got mine the other day and it said they have same day service so I was trying to find someone who went, please tell me you went haha..
Hi Glak1234,
Wow! you've got your pr visa already?! Congratulations! We still don't have ours.

I was just asking Krofnica about RPRF coz I didn't pay before. I already paid 2 weeks ago so at least if we got a ppr, my hubby will just go to Vienna & pick up the visa in the afternoon & no need to go back to Hungary, just fly from Vienna to Canada. I think Vienna still processing our application until now coz my hubby needs an ARC. Congratulations, I'm so happy for you. When are you coming here in Canada? & where will you land? finally, 2 down from Vienna office. I'll check the vienna thread...

Turquoise I red about picking up visa the same day. You probably mentioned that in some other topic. Is that confirmed? Leave passport in the morning and pick it up with visa in the afternoon?
edit: I saw that here in this topic LOL
Hello Serdj977: That's what I've heard & that will be our plan too. I'll just buy via email a plane ticket & my hubby will print the confirmation via email & voala! Good bye Hungary Welcome Canada! Oh, my God, I'm dreaming again I don't even know if my hubby will get his coz ours is a bit complicated. My son & I miss him so much! it's been almost 2 years since he left Canada. Damn! I really hope this will finally be over.
Hey what's up with you? how's your application? Are you also with those ones waiting for a llllooooooooonnnnnnggggg background checks from their military service?
At least one thing we don't need to wait, that visa pickup.
Me no news either...Still waiting (yes me too...that long b checks)... I'm in a queue for an interview, since January (learned that from GCMS notes)...We emailed Vienna for follow up two weeks ago and everything is still the same. They replied that I'm in a queue for interview and that I'll be informed of date, time and place... I already knew that...
Wow you guys have a son. This must be terrible for him... I can only imagine...

hahaha....you're funny! That least the last hurdle is not a long wait. yup, we have a son together. I don't want to bring back the time when I brought back my son in Canada from Hungary (my son was living in Hungary for a year). it was horrible. He cried hysterically at the airport & when he was in Canada, he never spoken english at all, purely hungarian while I knew a bit of hungarian....so so hard. Never, never will I leave my son ever again & so glad he's with me I mean eventhough he's in good hands with my hubby & his family there, but from my point of view as a mother, my heart is at ease when my son is with me.
Well, keep us posted okay?! what do you think your interview is all about? it's already been so long since january? are you going to be interviewed somewhere else other than in Vienna? maybe that's why, they still have to schedule someone to go in the other office to interview you. hey, I mentioned you on the vienna office thread. Still remember your advice to me & I thank you for that.

That must be tough for a little kid, but he'll be way better when his dad arrives

It's a security interview and it is regarding my military background. When Nato bombing took place in Serbia in 1999 I was in my mandatory service at the time. Entire country was at state of war and I have in my military records that I participated in a war... I have never been in active combat or in any similar situation but they are checking me for war crimes and that takes more time... I really don't know why that queue is that long but I guess that's cause lots of people from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia have to go trough those BC and waiting for interview...
Interview will probably be in Vienna but tam.1979. said to me that Canadian embassy in Belgrade is also a option and that they might ask me to go there. We will see...
I saw you mentioned me in Vienna topic, glad to help

Thanks! Its my husband that got his PPR, but I keep calling it mine haha, its a habit.. Yeah I know a lady that did that, her brother lives in Vienna and when she got her PPR she went straight to Vienna to get her visa, stayed with her brother, and the next day flew out of Vienna to Toronto. I am currently with my husband in Serbia, we plan to (god willing) after we get the visa, head for Toronto sometime in November
I am sure you will hear something soon.. as soon as they ask for payments and new meds I am sure that the process is coming to an end..
Praying for all of you to be with your loved ones soon!
Serdj, many positive thoughts your way for your interview ! good luck!
Srdj, my husband went through the security interview in February. He waited 4 months for the stupid interview. The interview was in Vienna. His original interview was in Belgrade but apparently security interview is done in Vienna. They just ask you questions about your 'military involvement'. My husband said the the VO was very nice and told him after the interview that it won't be long now for them to complete the application. They did send the interview results back to CSIS-CBSA and that took us until end of May. So it took CBSA 3.5months to verify the interview and make their final decision. However, I got a hold of CBSA via email and this very helpful lady helped me. The same day I emailed them they sent their recommendation to Vienna. Now we're just waiting for the medical results. THey were done June 30th, but apparently Belgrade sends the results to London UK - Medical Mission and they are the ones who review the results and forward the rusults to Vienna. I just emailed Vienna to see if should be worried that they are still waiting for meds, but they said that it's too soon. So we're waiting once again. 2 months since meds were done, and nothing....but than again, nothing has moved fast in our case

Krofnica thanks for sharing! I was following your case and it was frustrating just to read about it... I hope it will be over soon for you guys.
I think interview will be in Vienna but if it's in Belgrade that's fine by me. That would save me some money

. Belgrade is probably for selection interviews (in my case that one was waived) and Vienna for security... I don't quite understand part where you said that your husband waited 4 months for the interview. Do you mean that his interview was scheduled 4 months after the day he received email from Vienna about interview?
Anyways, I understand that it is about "military involvement" cause they are investigating individuals if they were involved in war crimes. I support high security and checks, but at least these family class cases should be with higher priority and should take less time for bc...
I didn't know that medicals are sent to London. More time for us to wait...My meds expiring in two days... and police clearance in two weeks...
Thx again for sharing!

Have you ever had an interview with the VO in Belgrade? If not, be well prepared. Just sayin'.

Yes I had an interview for my visitor visa twice in Belgrade. First time I was approved and second time few months ago I was denied and it was because bc are in progress in my PR application. Lady at VO contacted Vienna and said that they can't issue visitor visa because of bc in progress. She was very strict and cold during questioning but at the end looked like she was kinda sorry cause they can't issue TRV lol. She interviewed me both times and of course she had records and "remembered" that she interviewed me first time. That's probably why she looked like she was sorry... I got TRV first time, stayed amount of time in Canada as I said I would and came back and now they cant give me TRV...
Just wanted to spend some time visiting and to be together with my wife while waiting... Well at least I tried.
Considering those "big" interviews In GCMS notes says that they consider our relationship genuine and selection interview is waived, and as you know security one is in queue...
When do you expect your GCMS to arrive?
I have no idea when I'll get the notes. It seems like some people get them quickly, like in a week by email, and others take a month. I guess I'll just twiddle my thumbs a little longer.
Glad you know about the VO and have been successful with her.
I'm wondering if he he'll even have an interview about our relationship. I'm thinking, why would they bother with all those security checks if they didn't think our relationship was genuine. Wouldn't that be the first thing they'd look at? And they asked for the extra military records right away as well.
Well, back to twiddling my thumbs...
Nice to hear that things are moving along for you anyway.

I guess because marriage fraud is minor compared to national security
I am not saying your marriage is a fraud but when you look at the grand scheme of things I would rather let a fraudster in than a potential threat to homeland security( that was in my president bush lingo hehe)
\But i think because BC takes long I would rather they be done too, I too may have a BC as my S2B Hubby is in the military but for him its his occupation so fingers cross he is not as other members of the army got thru without security interview as CDN n Jamaican military train together who knows I am prepared for a lenghtly wait but hoping for a speedy 1

Selection interview was waived the same day they started processing our application!
Bunch of other stuff were in 'passed' status the same day. Eligibility, criminality, medical...
Major things are admissibilities (security) and that's the most important thing.
I think you would probably be informed by now for selection interview if one is needed.

I second that.
