Girlfriend has visitor visa currently, We applied for common law sponsorship...

Hi, My gf's visitor visa is going to expire, we have applied for common law sponsorship 2 weeks ago and are waiting for mississauga to approve and then forward to manila. We want her to stay here atleast untill mississauga has approved the first stage of our application, then she will return to Japan for a few months to work as she does not have a work visa here currently. Do you she will be able to get another visitor visa for the time being? It is pretty much only up to the border offical or is there a set rule about getting another visitor visa? Thanks all.

She should apply for an visitor extension before her current visa expires. She can apply online. This will give her implied status while you wait it out and let her stay longer if she so desires should it be approved. I would think generally for Japan they would give you six months extension but you can ask for a year.
