I applied for a visitor visa (inland) and I’m waiting for the final decision. My partner just recieved his work permit and he would like to sponsors me as a common low. My question is, may I go already to the boarder to apply for a visa under common law sponsorship? Or do I have to wait until my visitor visa will be approved?
1. This isn't a family class application or sponsorship if he isn't a PR or citizen. You may want to ask in the Skilled Worker or Express Entry forum Work Permit forum.
2. Applications for spousal open work permits are not guaranteed. Going to the border for a not-guaranteed permit while you're waiting for a visa extension is not a good idea.

He can’t sponsor you if he is on a WP. You may qualify for a SOWP depending on what kind of work your common law is doing and what kind of work permit he has. What is your current status in Canada? Are you from a visa exempt country? Is your partner working in NOC0, A or B?
This should all be posted under work permit section.
