My employer applied for ICT visa which took total 3 months to get processed.
In detail:
1) Law agency took almost 2 month to collect all documents from my Employer and to prepare my file.
2) IRCC took only 10 days. my file was submitted online on 3rd December and I got passport submission request right after 5 days. and passport stamping took another 3 days.
I am moving to Canada office in January month and looking forward to apply for Permanent residence now. but it seems, i would be able claim enough points after a year.

If you want to use Canadian work experience to get more points, than you must work for at least an year. Other options would be considering a provincial nomination program, depending on the province you are, you might be able to kick off this process right away in January. Also if you are only short by a couple of points compared to current cut off, and if you have not scored well in language test, give another attempt and score very high. Good luck!!
Btw, which province you are moving to? If you don't mind disclosing, who is your employer?
