Gettin New SIN Number

Hello friends,

I have been trying to apply for SIN online and the website seems to be down for the past one week. I tried calling the SIN office , but was put on hold for 2 hours. Has anyone faced similar issue ?

Usually the wait times for Service Canada call centers are very long, as for the online application being down, I've heard of this happening before in the past few months, must be some issues on their end

I have received my SIN. I just checked my mailbox, maybe it came over the weekend.

My timeline:
Applied on: 21st May
Application No.: 76k
SIN created on: 25th May
Application Type: First SIN
Province: Ontario
Documents submitted:
1. COPR as primary,
2. Passport as secondary,
3. Proof of address as my brother's apartment's hydro bill

Did you include the visa stamp pages for Canada in the passport pages? or Just first and last page?

Stamped pages are not required.
In my case, i used front and back cover with all necessary data pages.

But the hydro bill will be in his name ? and they are askingg a govt issued doc in ur name

Hi. I’ve received my SIN number today.
Applied online on June 5. However, they put my first name as middle name so I need to request them to amend it

Congrats dude!. Even I applied 5-June. After see your post, I just casually went and checked my mailbox. I see SIN mails for me and spouse.. However, I haven't received for the child. Not sure what would be the issue!

Receive the new SIN for kid as well! matter of time and patience!

My parents applied on 6th June and got letters in mail on 16 June.

I see. All the people who applied in the beginning of June already has the SIN number. There's people who applied at the end of May and stills waiting.
