Congrats and thanks for sharing, you are the first one I read to receive SIN after landing in March. Curious, what document you provided for proof of address? It was the hard one for all new PRs.

Did you get any confirmation email after applying online? I never did and thats why the whole thing is so infuriating and confusing.

there's like a SIN Application Number given at the end of the online application, you did not get it?

I called Service Canada this morning, the agent said as long as I got a confirmation number/SIN Application Number at the end of the online process that should be okay... and they will respond to me by mail after 20 business days...

I didnt get email, only the confirmation online with app number after submitting.

Probably you opened the account after your soft landing? How many days does it take to receive the first statement after opening the account? I landed mid March, quarantined for 2 weeks, opened the account only a few days ago.

I called Service Canada this morning, the agent said as long as I got a confirmation number/SIN Application Number at the end of the online process that should be okay... and they will respond to me by mail after 20 business days...

I did. Wanted to be sure that it was okay. The last 4 digits of my application was 1420, what was yours? So we can have an idea if there is some sequence to the process. ALso what number did you reach them on? The number i have has beeen rejecting calls for over a week.

9818 and I applied April 9th around 4pm PST - I bet this is the last day for online application then they temporarily disabled it.

I called Canada Toll-Free: 1-866-274-6627 took me several tries though before I entered the queue.

Mine is 1633 and I applied 6th April around 11.30 EST.

I live in Canada since 2018. If you are new here, I guess you can use your rental papers. Or you can get G1 licence and use that paper.
