I am the principal applicant. I have father, mother, brother and sister but they are not coming to Canada so do i need to include them and myself, total number of 5?

No, in the Appendix for the Complete Guide, it gives a definition for what they mean by family members which is:

Family members:
An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children. See subsection 1(3) of the IRPR for the legal definition.

So only list those people.
