Hello all, I'm new to this forum, so let me introduce myself firstly.
My name is Avneet, I’m from India ,New Delhi and I’ve meaning to go to Canada since My 12th Standard but due to my bad academics couldn’t able to, So now I’ve completed my graduation In B.com From Delhi university and waiting for my result to be announced.
Academics Profile : (No Gap)
10th- 52% in 2011
12th- 49.75% in 2013
Graduation From 2013 - 2016 (I haven't calculated my percentage but i will once my final result is announced).
Ielts band: (W-5)(S-6)(L-7.5)(R-7).
Therefore, I have some question in my mind regarding General category Student visa (Because some agent told me that i am not eligible for Spp category) which are following:
1). Academics (Minimum Percentage required) And Ielts requirement?
2). How to show funds, How much is required and what type of funds are required?
3). Work permit while studying and Work permit after studying in general category?
4). Colleges which comes under General category and recognized course (For Work permit while studying and afterwards)?
5). Chances of getting visa in general category for low Academics but Good ielts band (I got 6.5)?
6). And lastly can I try under Spp?
Note: Though I got incomplete Information about visa categories, because I went to few Consultants and they gave me partial information(Marketing strategies) , So before going to anymore consultants I want to know by myself from expert and individuals (those are already well settled there, And are in this industry), That what are my chances for the visa.
Any views and answers will be appreciated And Thank you in advance.
Regards.
avneet ji, as far as i know..you need percentage in 12th above 60 percent..
and if you want to apply for masters, you need to get 6.5 overall and minimum 5.5 in each module. that too will be a problem
i suggest you retake iielts and apply !!

Thank you so much for your reply, Yes i know i will retake ielts for sure once my result is announced but do you think 12th grades will be a problem?? and how much percentage is required for master courses?
12th percentage doesnot metter visa officer will consider last qualification and they will assest u on the basis of your graduation, u Ielts score are not enough u need atlest overall 6 and no less than 5.5
If my advice helpful for u pls rate me +1

Yeah thank you bro, i know ielts is must but i got 5 only in writing due to zero time management, ill definitely retake the test soon, Moreover i want to know more about general category
between how to do rating?
Anyone please?

why u want to apply under general category I think u should apply under spp cause its success rate is high and take less time and colleges are also reliable and under general category u should require lot of docs as compare to spp

Hmm good point veer, but an agent told me that minimum 50% in every academics (I've done previously) is required for spp category and my case will still be dice most likely rejected. To get good success rate 60% is must. So he told me that its better to apply under either general or university category at least With well elaborated SOP(why my grades are low and my purpose etc), good amount of relevant funds and good ietls score can cover my academics.

Hi Avneet,
I just read your about your academics and everything and personally i would like to suggest you that go for spp category agents just want to earn commission from us nothing else and the reason why i am suggesting you for spp because there is less paper work easy and fast process moreover as you have mentioned that your academics are low, in spp you dont need to show your 10th and 12th.
Just go through the forms you need to fill for spp its clearly mentioned that they need your studies and work after 18 years of age so there is no problem in that and consult other agents too so that you ll have an idea.
General category always takes time and is hectic so plan accordingly whatever is safer for you and what offers you better chances to get a visa.

Very well said bro, This what i've been thinking "Plan wisely". And moreover i believe too now that Spp will be better. I just wanted to be well aware of general category.
And what do you think about my chance in both the category's, In which success rate will be high?

If i talk about your chances then lets say if you score 60% in graduation and i hope you will, just choose a post graduation course which is in contrast with your graduation and this is the main thing you pg course should match your previous study keep this in mind always, score good in your ielts 6.5 or 7.
if you are able to fulfill these things i would say most probably you will get the visa under spp.
in general category you have to show so many funding proofs and other formalities so chances are always less than spp profile.

I hope So too that perhaps i get more then 60% and 7 bands in ielts. (Umeed teh duniya kayam hai ;D )
But what if someone score less then 60 or Eg 55-54, Score's 7 band and choose other provinces(like Alberta Saskatchewan, quebec, new brunswick etc) to study?
What will be their chances? And If someone chooses other province (other than Vancouver and Toronto) will it effect visa chances (positively or negatively?)?
Lastly @general category, I'am convinced that i should and i will apply only under SPP category unless Something goes wrong.
Thanks

Dont worry in graduation everybody manages to get 60% but still in case if one gets 55 then yeah its a negative thing but as you said province like sakatchewan and others needs more students so there is negative thing in choosing province.

Do you mean if someone chooses to go to province like Saskatchewan and others is a negative thing? or you mean the opposite going to Vancouver and Toronto etc is negative?
Because i think going to other provinces (other then Vancouver etc) is positive thing.
and getting less then 60% is a problem? right?
Confused. :-X
