Hi,
Similar timeline.
Are there any new updates on your case?
Mine, dead silence. Undergoing a comprehensive SS and still waiting to receive the CBSA and CSIS notes I ordered earlier.
Sadly, total silence. No updates.

Sorry to hear that.
Hope to hear good news from you soon!
Please let us know whenever there are any new updates on your case.

Be patient, brother,
As your Compatriot, I've been stuck in SS since September 2023, and still nothing from CBSA.
Everything else, such as criminality, info sharing, eligibility, medical and bio, is completed.

CSIS does an A34 comprehensive background check for Iranians and then CBSA.
The result will be sent to the IRCC secondary officer for decision-making.

I hope you get your clearance soon.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply, and sorry to hear that you got stuck in the SS this long.
Similar status for my case: everything has been completed and passed, but SS.
It's literally unfair that they're punishing us like this only because of our nationality, while we've always been law-abiding and honourable either in Canada or our home country. We, the people, are paying the price instead of the politicians.
Thank you for your kind words, and hope to hear good news from you soon!

I, personally, don’t mind the extra checks and I may understand why they’re tied to my nationality. What I do mind is an absolute lack of feedback and any deadlines whatsoever. How can the screening be? A year? A two? Why aren’t there any protocols to regulate this?

Hey everyone,
I just received an email from CBSA saying they sent me CBSA notes, but the attached file is the GCMS notes! This is the first time I’ve requested CBSA notes, but I don’t think CBSA notes and GCMS notes are exactly the same, right? Do you think there might have been a mistake when requesting the CBSA notes, or did they send the wrong notes? What should/can I do now?

I agree with you to some extent; it sucks that there's no clear timeline or due date, and they don't provide any feedback. But what I'm trying to say is that I've already provided all the necessary documents confirming that I have no background in military service, government work, shady studies or employment, or any concerning travel history, and I've never left Canada after landing in it years ago. I've submitted my clear police certificate and have always been law-abiding. There's nothing wrong with my background! It doesn't make sense to subject me to a comprehensive security screening just because of my nationality!

May I ask when your info sharing completed,as I thought once it’s completed then your comprehensive is done?

Hope this information help someone who is in the same situation. My bridging open work permit ( BOWP ) was approved yesterday, It took 121 days approximately 4 months. I know many applicants ask for the validity. My document is valid for 2 years from the date of approval. Bowp is big relief for me as I was on implied status. BUT STILL IN CBSA CHECK !!

Okay, good to know it is 2 years....I thought it was 1 year. Recently IRCC increased the processing times for PNP to 20 months (almost double last year). I think they are really trying to close the gates on people nowadays

I think permit duration depends on the type of the application

Do you mean PNP vs CEC? is there a way to estimate the BOWP validity?/

mine is CEC and it is hard to estimate any validity

Where are you getting 20 months from?

Ah, they have updated the processing times. It was only 13 months when i checked a few weeks ago

Dude, those numbers don’t mean anything in the real world!
Our case is PNP and EE, with a supposed processing time of 6 months. Our AOR is February 19, 2024, but they didn’t even start sending our documents to CBSA for the security check until September 19, 2024—7 months later! Now we’re stuck in a comprehensive SS with no updates since then. Honestly, most people here are in the same boat—or worse. So, don’t stress over those numbers; they’re meaningless!
