Horrible! Horrible! Some people on this forum told me that any less than $10000 and it would be a rejection for visa requested for 3 months! Also, some said that there should be 2 invitation letters, one for the invitee and the other for the visa officer. People's imagination knows no bounds!

I am glad that I have visited this particular thread.

Before more people get misled, I am removing my thread where people wrote those ridiculous suggestions.

Thanks to this thread writer and the genuine contributors, especially charmainefrances! :) Now I can write ONE good invitation letter for my mother without being obsessed about showing tons of money that she might (so-called, "have to") bring!

Yes, I always tell people to write a heartwarming, genuine letter of invitation. One that comes from the heart. Some people say that it's just secondary but I still believe in the power of genuine words than money. :) I'm not saying that having $10,000 is a bad idea, that would be good if you really have that money right? I wish I have $10,000 too. :P But what if you don't??? Then you can't travel??? That is wrong for me.

When I applied for my mom, her only income is her pension, and that is only like $250 a month. She doesn't have savings account. So, I believe that my letter of invitation made a big impact on the approval. It also depends on the Visa Office you're applying from.

Also, I always make a separate support Documents like this:

As per previous post strange as it may seem indicating someones primary purpose of visiting is to look after a baby even if the applicant happens to be the grandmother could be seen as being work so for sure do not put that as the reason for the visit. Visiting family is fine but stating looking after baby whilst parent is working not fine and should not even be mentioned to CBSA on landing. Once visa has been granted and applicant is in country then is up to you all what you do or do not do family wise just dont add complications to the application.

Hi,

Need a small piece of advise from you. My wife is pregnant and she is due in Jun 2017. In my letter of invitation I mentioned that their main purpose of the trip is to visit my family and to support my wife physically and mentally. Do you think the reason is going to effect the application in a negitive way??

Philippines.

My aunt was 62 years old when I applied for her in 2014. She is still working. We submitted her payslips, COE and her Tax infos. We received her passport with the VIsa after a week of submitting it to VFS Manila.

This is the letter I submitted for my mom's application. Received the passport with visa after a week as well. I hope it helps!

Dear Visa Officer:

My name is ____________, a Permanent Resident of Canada with client ID number ______. I live with my husband _______, a Canadian and my son _________ at #________________________

I humbly ask that you accept this letter of invitation for my mother,_________, living at ___________________________. She is a retired University Professor and now receiving a monthly pension.

My mother _______, who is now 70 years old, is the one who worked so hard to provide for our family for many years. She is the one who made sure that there will be food on the table everyday. She is the one who sent not only me to school but also some of my cousins. I owe a lot from her and this trip is just one way of saying thank you for all her love, help and sacrifices.

One of my dreams for her is to travel and enjoy the beauty of Canada while she can. I want to show her the amazing places in Alberta. Places that she had only seen in postcards. I would like to take her to Jasper to see the breathtaking Athabasca Falls or experience the Columbia Icefield Glacier. It would really be awesome to take her to Banff for her to see the magnificent Lake Louise. It would also be nice if she can see the spectacular hoodoos in Drumheller. Making this possible for her through your help would really mean a lot.

My husband and I will be taking full responsibility for all the expenses such as her airfare ticket to/from Canada, accommodation (she will be staying with us), travel within Canada, food and any other necessities for the duration of her stay with us. We are aware and respect the temporary resident visa status and we offer our personal guarantee that my mother's visit to Canada will not exceed six months from the time of her arrival. Please see attached support documents for this application.

Hi! Did you send any bank statement for your mom? or anything that would show that she has a money on her own? What document did you send to prove ties that she has in the Philippines? I'm planning to apply for trv for my father after giving birth but I will not mention about the baby in the application as suggested here.

Hi,

My mom is planning to apply for super visa soon. My husband will be providing the invitation letter as he meets the cut off for family income for super visa and stating that he will be taking care of my mom's expenses including food, stay etc. We are planning to show around 10k in our bank account. My mom can only show about $1500-$1800 in her account and that money is transferred in her account by my dad as my mom is a home maker. Since we are sponsoring my mom's visit, should my mom show her bank account at all? My mom is planning to come for 3 months, but we are thinking should she mention only 3-4 weeks stay as her bank account is not that strong?

Thank you

I did not apply online.

it's an electronic signature only for online application.

Hi charmainefrances and all readers,

I am back to share my mother's application status. She has been granted visa for the entire validity of her passport which is around 4 years with multiple entries. She did not have to show tons of money. She mentioned $1000 as the amount she could bring and she asked for a 3-month period of stay in Canada. She submitted a letter from her boss that she would be needed back home as soon as possible. Plus, I elaborated well in the invitation letter that I would be solely responsible for taking care of her needs. A strong point of hers is that she had been to Canada several times in last two decades.

So, in conclusion, she did not have to show a lot of money. Each case is unique, though. Thanks for your support.

why does my computer keep giving me an error message when i enter a dollar amount? I have tried 1500 $1500 1,500 and $1,500 it doesnt seem to accept any number
