If the solution to keep deaths down is through vaccines (which, it is) then eventually it comes down to what an individual thinks; since you can't quite forcefully vaccinate them. Scratching this matter more will only cause bleeding, and I'm talking about a social bleeding. As we saw, there's a certain percentage of people who want to get vaccinated and who just don't want to. This may very well mean that in some places, covid will never be tamed. Still, we will see that it is not feasible for (western/democratic) governments to base their plans on things which are, and should be, in sole decision of individuals.
One exception would be maybe North Korea. The law might say either you get vaccinated or executed, well, not very feasible...
In short, 2021 will be the last year of "pandemic politics" because it's not feasible anymore.
Well said; truly, there will always be the vaccine-hesitant groups and that’s completely fine. Everyone has a right to decide whether they want the shots or not. Thankfully, Canada has a very low proportion of these kind of people in comparison to other countries. Where i reside, the vaccines are available and easy to access but the majority of people don’t want it and we are actually doing very fine.
The aim of vaccines is to reduce the health and economic burdens on hospitals while decreasing the chances of death drastically. So far, these objectives are being met for all variants of the virus. This is really commendable. Alberta recently reported that 99% of patients in hospitals that are down with Covid are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated
But they are not stuck in pool..they are getting their ITA and are out of pool after every draw... Take the example of Ontario, they cannot nominate more than 7000-7500 annually as per their quota and whoever get nominated they get the ITA in next draw. I mean to say that they aren't the one piling up in the pool.

Glad to see the new thread moving forward, still mad because the other was deleted, and also the one I opened got deleted too because of who knows why.
Just trying to spread some good news to you, so here it is:

While I do agree things are definitely speeding up, I personally found that news a bit misleading. They use the word "landed" but they largely mean the inland immigrants whose status changed from TR to PR, if I'm not missing a point. I expect and hope to see actual outland applicants getting their PPRs and actually "landing" in Canada soon. Wait for Sept/Oct people, IRCC will turn their face to outland applicants. We did the math before.

i am thinking that another reason why they have refused to allow OUTSIDERS come in for now is the Current Unemployment level, Is there Job(even if it is survival Jobs to hit the ground running after landing). Those that are currently in canada can hint us about that. Is there Plenty of Job even if it is close to the pre-pandemic level(we all know that economy is not back to normal yet). I think this might one of the reason why they are still focused on those inside canada for now.

Hahahaha bros, I’m not kidding tho; when i went to get my first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine late June, i just casually strolled to the nearest PHC to my house and in less than 10 minutes i got vaccinated and got scheduled for my second dose by September….i was amazed by how accessible getting the vaccine was at the time…unfortunately some of my friends who are even healthcare professional colleagues are hesitating to get vaccinated….it’s worse with the uneducated ones; so many conspiracy theories and fake info are been spread about the vaccines on social media. It’s a shame

Wow, 45100 applications in just one month is really impressive. I had thought that optimistically they'd process at most 30k per month. At this rate the applications from the TR-PR program will be cleared in no time.

It is hard to tell - you can argue about it, for example if you have CEC applicants with low scores - for example with low skills - how likely is for them to get a high skilled job in demand for example in IT? If you have FSW candidate with a right skills, they will get employed very quick
A FOURTH WAVE OR ‘AN EXPECTED RISE IN CASES’?
But where Talbot sees a potential fourth wave, Bogoch said it’s important to “change the narrative.”
“You know, the pandemic isn't over, we're doing really well and this is a great opportunity to strike while the iron is hot,” Bogoch said. “We've got enough vaccines to vaccinate every eligible Canadian, we've got health-care systems that are not overwhelmed at the moment, we've got a population that's quite willing to be vaccinated, and we've got very low rates of community transmission at the moment. So this is this is an opportune time to really get everything in order to prepare for an expected rise in cases that we're going to see later in the summer, probably in the fall.
“We can't ignore that we're way better off now than we were weeks and weeks and months ago.”
It's indeed an opportunity now to vaccinate as many people as possible and Canada already has enough doses stored, so we go back to what we talked about before; they won't be able to force some people to get vaccinated. It's just what it is.
One point I disagree with is, I think when people say the pandemic is not over, they're shooting themselves in the leg. In UK and US, and really, Canada, the pandemic is pretty much over (I've read some Canadian doctors' and professionals' articles saying the same for Canada). At this level of vaccination, with the assumption of no issues in future deliveries for further doses, covid can only be an endemic. It can never lock up hospitals. If governments will act impulsively at every sight of increase in "cases", this whole century could very well be spent in a lock down. It's just not feasible.
