They don’t check your knowledge in writing, they check your language n grammar. Doesn’t matter if your views aren’t the truest, they shd b written with proper grammer n punctuations.
This is true to a large extent. The IELTS writing and speaking tests aren’t really a test of knowledge but a test of your language ability. Although it’s a good strategy to read wide or watch alot of high quality English documentaries/podcasts before the test as this can help with idea generation.
I concur. If your English ability is mere average or just a little above average it would be a herculean task to achieve Band 8, almost impossible. This is why E2 IELTS have a school (E2 Language) for people who have average or below average language skill. They would brush up those peoples level to above average first before tutoring them on actual IELTS skills
My Irish friend got 7 in speaking How? Do not ask me, I have no clue.
First time when I was doing my IELTS, I got 7 in writing the next time I got 8. Guess what, my writing did not change, I would say it was exactly same style as before
i managed to get 9 in listening and reading and 7.5 in writing but 7 in speaking in first attempt (speaking was the strongest skill out of all) I don’t know what they want in speaking,i exhibited my speaking skills to the best of my abilities but don’t know what level of polish they require nonetheless i am proud of getting 7.5 in writing which according to me is the toughest one to score

Based on grid for speaking..if you pause repeatedly to think (happens subconsciously as well) the scores come down. Also the key is to not repeat the sentences spoken even if it is paraphrasing... Basically talk about lot of different topics without pausing a lot.

Yeah I agree. Current delays have nothing to do with Covid. Also, the vaccination rate in Ontario is pretty good. Hopefully all the IRCC employees have been vaccinated.
Guys, I am unable to login to my IRCC account. Anyone else facing this? I've been trying since yesterday, but every time it redirects me to the language page once I click on "Login with GCKey"
