1 day to 2 months. Generally for Outland bg in progress status change means app is approved and file is ready for Visa. Why they take 1 day or 2 months to send PPR email after this we are not currently sure about.
Thanks hotshot007.. I'm not sure of the exact date my BG went to "In progress" but believe it to be sometime in early November. Fingers crossed since long back. Any other people having any other inputs on this?
@kuldeek: I can relate to your timeline mate, hang on your PPR may just be around the corner.
seems that they're maxing out the 6 month period for ee. just be patient guys...there are only a handful of fsw outland who were lucky enough to get their pprs in 12 weeks or less. most of us have taken longer. there's no use stressing over the lack of movement, your pprs will come eventually
Can someone guide me on this? I am an Outland applicant and received PR recently, have to enter before July. I am from india.. Now my question is, do I need to enter Canada from India directly? I am going to US for my current employer and was thinking to land in Canada from US directly?? Also Can I get SIN immediately from canada airport itself after immigration formalities are done???

Looking at the timelines here, most of the people who have got their PPRs are from the July - Aug months, when CIC had previous backlogs to deal with, so 4-5 months was a norm. The processing times should come down now. Right?
It seems the medicals take very less time to get updated, which gives us the hope that our applications are being looked at and will be processed very quickly. In the end, everything seems to slow down.

CIC stated clearly the processing time "6 months". We all should be happy because formerly it took much longer. If PPR comes faster then let it be a surprise. If not we should not blame CIC cause they keep their promise and process 80% of applications in less than 6 months.
