Had a similar problem as you. My husband's passport expired while waiting for ITA and we just sent in his renewed one without issue when the ITA came in. Which did you send in after your ITA?
Best of luck!
We had the passport renewed last year itself, so we submitted details of both passports and that is non negotiable when submitting documents post ITA. We sent both the passports post PPR.
I made a bit of research, I found a post of a guy that said that the officer at the airport rejected the UPS address. But there are people who have used it successfully. Also, apparently CIC may ask you to physically come retrieve the card. That would be a problem.

It is positive, at least it shows that they are working on our file. I cannot understand, this status for myself. I paid all fee upfront. They never asked for additional document... Why they changed the status from 'being reviewed' to 'have been uploaded'.

From other forum, someone has given below information.. Helpful for guys stuck in IP2 . Especially those who know that their VO is ottawa
"Guys at IP2: I just spoke to a very friendly agent who confirmed that the application has been approved on the exact date that my application went into IP2. I asked her about the long wait and she gave me a reason that I had not really thought about. She said the office has been dealing with a massive back log that has extended passport wait times. So they are currently focussed on clearing that backlog before issuing a PPR email. She said that since the app is still within their 6 month target they have not prioritized sending out the PPR email. I hope this gives some relief to the guys at IP2!
No, I actually misunderstood the post that I read. CIC asked for a new photo, but I'm not sure if you can mail it from Canada/overseas or bring it in person. Not to retrieve the PR card in person. Sorry about that.
