If the medical test has passed, I am now wondering why the status on background checks has not changed... it is still not applicable.. does it take a few days normally?
IP2 is nothing if you look closely. People get PPR after IP2 in a matter of days. The whole A11.2/ security/criminality is done during the NA stage as it lasts for 4-6 weeks.
Do not be conused with the status NA . I hope this makes sense.
So it means that I have to be super nice with my boss now for next couple of weeks, in case he gets a call from IRCC. I hope this phase passes quickly.

I was going through the dates on immitracker. Although not everyone updates their 'employment verification date', but the people who have mentioned it is mostly after IP2 date.
Its possible that everything for A11.2 gets verified during NA, except employment verification which is done during IP2.
Yes you are correct, i have seen that too, i think the point here is that eligibility is already determined, and just for the last verifications and approval etc. the file is at the local visa office, where sometimes the Visa officer (for any doubtful reasons) choses to verify Employment at last moment. @comfortablynumb and @astralsource, your take?
i just saw a case where an applicant's (in IP 2 stage) employment was verified on 12th june and he got PPR on 20th june, so it means it was more of a last minute verification by the Visa officer... or either they very quickly did his security and criminality afterwards...
If they think that the documents maybe be forged, then they might call to check. But if everything is in order no verification is required.
I have worked for 2 of India's Biggest IT firms and I have provided more documents than required. I don't think a verification will be done in my case.
Also, i have read this from a very senior and wise member on this forum, that IRCC does not verifies Employment usually, as they don't have the time and manpower to do so. Only in cases where some doubt arises , the verification is done.
