Our application also has been transferred to Cairo Visa Office. Application received on May 8th and PER on August 14th (2014 of course). I emailed CPC-Ottawa and they replied that my application is in Cairo Visa Office. I emailed Cairo Visa Office but I got no reply so far. The Embassy in Egypt is closed since December 4th. As it seems this is the case with applicants who applied with Cairo Visa Office as there Visa Office in the first couple of weeks of May. I know personally another person in my situation and as I see on this forum and other forums that there is a good number of people in the same situation.
Now, My question/proposal is to think collectively of something to do. Maybe there is something we can do that will help us push forward the process or remind CIC of our situation. Please let me know if you are interested and let us come up with something.
it takes about 2 weeks after medical to have 3rd line mefical received then about 45_60 to get decision made and about 30_45 days to get ppr ...and i am sorry to tell you that this time lines are getting longer and longer ...so dont worry just more patience
my case is the same, I got the same reply from CIC and there's no reply from Cairo visa office....

Just wondering, are you currently living in Cairo or abroad. For me, I am living in Kuwait and I've chosen cairo as my visa office although it was optional to choose other countries like Dubai, for instance.
Anyway, one can do nothing at this stage except waiting fingers crossed.
Let's keep this group active. As of now, I have no ideas/suggestions as to how we can expedite the process within CIC. However, I appreciate any ideas for you guys as I am quite excited to push things forward.
I am pretty sure of this, I got this info from observing forum members here and in the Egyptian forum. you will find for example XFaris stating his file is at Cairo VO and other members having their files sent to Ottawa. I have observed that the time of application received by CIO makes the difference.
I have also created a secret Facebook group (similar to the one here) for people who already received their PER and waiting for next steps. The group is all Arabs (mainly Egyptians) and it would be good if you can join. I am sure they can provide support.
