I guess it will affect. But i do not think anyone in this forum can give a 100% confident response. If you go by the cic website, it says ur education should have some programming related content in it. If you are able to prove that your degree has some computer related stuff in it, then u r kind of OK. Else its in the hands of the CIC officer to decide.

I am qualified to apply under 2174. I have collected most of the education and work related docs, my WES is complete, but yet to receive the courier. I would like to ask a couple of questions -
I stay in India and am planning to apply from here within this next 10-days time. But I might have to go out of the country on a long-term visa (L1) to US on my work assignment thro' my employer. Although the dates are not concrete, tentatively I might have to leave in about a month's time or so. In this context, provided my application reaches NS office before the cap is reached, and if my file number is received after I have left my original country of residence (India), how would I go about following up with the subsequent process of Police clearance, Med exams, etc.,?
G'day. Had applied for the 24 hour service. However, with the door closed, you'd think it would be three days. The tentative evaluation completion date is listed as the 13th, despite the file having been opened 15 days ago. Hoping against hope that that's the day that I'll have the required cert in hand. Noc 2174, applying from Karachi. Bachelors in computer engineering, with a masters in international business.

I actually don't think that it will affect, the FAQ in canadavisa.com website says that your work experience doesn't have to be related to your you education, as long as you are performing or have performed the duties of the occupation for which you are claiming points (see question #14 on canadavisa.com FAQ).
I'm hoping for that, because my education is remotely related with what I have been working the past few years (and which I'm claiming points for).
