Thanks for reply just got relief but tell me I have new passport just renewed in oct 2012 and my wife's passport is from 2010. So passports issue date affects the PCC issuance. I mean what is ur passport issue year. and one more thing my region is nashik comes under thane. Can I apply from thane also because just niw in MUMbai.
it depends on place where your passport is issued from...
if its thane, yes u need to apply from thane and if its mumbai u should apply from mumbai.
passport issue date wont affect pcc issuance. dont worry at all.
they will charge you Rs.500 per pcc.
dont forget to take all your original docs along with copies with you.

Thank you all for the wishes and I have status changed yesterday and Medical request today around 9.23AM. All the waiting time has paid off. Now i have to run for all the other documents.

I have received the passport request from NDVO and I am living in Japan. Most of the courier companies have denied except the DHL which has agreed to send my passport from Japan to NDVO.According to DHL,a passport can be from embassy to embassy or from individual to embassy if a accompanied with a letter for the customs clearance.
On showing the letter from NDVO they have agreed to send my passport.
Has anyone been in the similar situation of mailing passports across the borders which is an way illegal?
Also does NDVO provides extension for passport submission dates when the candidate is living overseas?

these people can ask anythng for verification...
they click ua pix there itself but carry couple of passport size photos with u...
