You can't share quarantine hotel rooms with people you are not travelling with. That defeats the purpose of the quarantine.

No bro, if you book for 18-20, then they will make you checkout on 20th. You may call the hotel and confirm the same from them also for more clarity.

For example: let's just say you want to book hotel for only 1 night. Then you will select 18-19 right?
Now, 18-19 equals one night, 19-20 equals 2 nights and 20-21 would all together be equivalent to 3 nights, I believe but please also call the hotel and if I am wrong please do let me and everyone else know also.

How does it defeat the purpose if they are landing on the same day and then quarantining together for 14 days? Can you provide an actual scientific explanation or do you just want immigrants to suffer financially as much as possible just for the sake of it?

You and him are stating the same thing.
In your case, when booking on hotel website you will choose check-in date = 6th Mar, check-out date = 9th Mar, hence your booking is from 6 to 9th Mar.
It's technically 4 days and 3 nights, and the hotel will charge you 3 nights fee.

Anywaz, i was sharing my experience, better to check with hotel in case of questions....for me it was straightforward and i shared my experience for the benefit of people who are yet to travelled to avoid over cost. The hotel and government would like you to spend more money than desired so choose your battles wisely. Cheers !

Is it advisable to book tickets in British airways. I mean although the price is good but are there chances of cancellation? Any policy by Canadian govt to not allow British flights. Anyone travelled in that flight . Planning for mid Apr.

The universal standard for hotels is to bill you for the nights you stay. But with GAA these hotels calculate days for billing. That means the day you check-out is also counted as a night.

My friend checked into Marriott on 28th Feb noon and checked out 3rd Mar noon. He was charged with 4 days, he had to fight a lengthy battle to get his 4th day reimbursed. If you go a few pages behind in this thread you can find my posts with the actual bill copy.

Also take a look at the below article and there's a bill copy shown. This was identical to the one received by my friend.

The most hilarious reason given by the hotel was 'everyone leaves the hotel on day 2, so why didnt he choose to leave?'

So ask the hotel clearly, if possible get the checkout date/time in writing while you are at the hotel reception
