Hi

I have a Somali passport, and I have a PR card that will expire in july 2018, i am offered a job that require travel to the states ,maybe for 2 weeks each trip.

i never been to the states before and i am in canada since 2 years, i recently sent my application to renew my pr card but the process is slow.

I heard about trump's policy to ban certain countries from entering the states, however i do have hold a PR card
can i still go to the states without a visit visa.

can a canadian PR holder enter the states without visit visa or work permit especially if they are from the countries that trump put a ban on them.

thanks

Most Canadian PR holder need a VISA, at least you are subject to the US Visa Waiver Program. If you are from one of these countries, you will not require a US Visitor Visa to enter the US.

  • Somali immigrants are banned from entry, but non-immigrants — those seeking business or tourist visas — must undergo additional screening measures.

You need a visa to enter the US. A PR card does not grant you the right to enter the US - whether you need a visa or not is determined based on your passport.
