I am finishing my studies as an international student this December. However, I already sent my application for common-law sponsorship (permanent residency) months ago and I received a letter saying that I have to do my medical test this December as well.
My questions are:
1. Do I have to apply for my Post Grad Work Permit although I am applying for sponsorship?
2. I am working right now so can I keep working since my study permit expires March 2020 or do I have to stop working at some point until I get my open work permit?

1. The sponsorship app doesn't grant you status. The OWP included with the sponsorship app does not give you the right to continue working after you finish your studies. Until you actually get approved for the OWP, you are a student and must comply with the accompanying working restrictions.
2. If you haven't received the OWP, you have to stop working as soon as you receive confirmation of program completion.
Also note that if you receive the OWP before you finish your studies, you are required to stop studying.
