A friend of mine who is not a member of this forum wants to know what happen should he leave (divorce) his wife, right now the application has been submitted, and AOR issued, will this affect the process period, and again is it mandatory that all listed applicants on the application present for interview should it be required( Principal applicant, spouse, and children)

1. If he divorces and he is the principal applicant, he will have to remove his ex-spouse from the application.
2. The custody of the children will be an issue, but if his wife retains custody, the children should be examined so that in the future they still can be sponsored.
3. Another hitch maybe if he needs his spouses adaptation points to meet the cut-off, he would lose them.
4. Most CIC offices usually only want to interview the principal applicants and not the children except where there are doubts that an overage dependent (22 or over) is still attending school is and still is dependent on the parents.
