Please advise what to do in this case: a foreign worker came to Canada to work on the farm. The farm owner was treated him and his friends as slaves. He was upset and stood up to speak against the owner's unfairness. The owner fired him. He left the farm and doing varied jobs to survive. Because his English is not well, he could not seek the right help. His Closed-Work-Permit and his Visa had expired. What can he do to re-new his Visa, and apply for his Open Work Permit???
First of all, he is out of status and illegally in Canada, he should have renewed before it expired that way it can make him on implied status pending a decision. All he needs to do is apply for restoration first or leave and reapply again. (I think)

He did seek help, but the agency who help him were wasting his time by not doing a good job in helping him to find a good employer with an open work permit. What does he need to do to restoration his legal status?

I already answered that; by applying for restoration online. But I am not sure of the outcome/results since he has been illegal and working illegally for a year plus.
