At the moment, there is no change to the strike status. It is still in progress.

There is no deadline as such but I think they may release their findings this week. I would expect some news by Friday.

Today will be like all the other days and the PAFSO are been left in no mans land/the government are losing a fortune every hour/Canadavisa immigrants are all of the above only ten times worse. WHO-WHO-WHO is going to take control and slap both side and then make them shake hands and tell them today ye will have to find a solution. Simple as that.

The strike hasn't been mentioned by the media in weeks. If only the inconvenience of thousands of families could be as important and newsworthy as Miley Cyrus sticking her tongue out.

Nobody knows.. It could end next week or it could carry on for months. No point in guessing.

The CIC is giving 100% priority to students, tourists, refugees, workers. With the exception of family visas which were filed years ago or near completion, all other family files will remain untouched, and processing times will be allowed to build into several years, with no effort to alleviate backlogs. Canadian families are completely unimportant to PAFSO and the Government. While most progressive countries have spousal process times of 4 to 6 months, it takes 14 months to 4 years to sponsor ... » more

Ironically, I have been waiting for over 14 months now, I got approval of sponsoring my wife (so I am officially her sponsor) but we are still in the dark about our app for a PR visa. SO we filed that at the same time as the sponsorship, and is it logical to assume that since the sponsorship was approved, our PR visa will also be approved somewhat "soon"???

I saw a picture in the paper of some of the employees on strike outside of the visa buildings had eggs thrown at them by people, I'm guessing these people were just like us, waiting for there applications to be processed.

Where and what CIC Immigration are you applying at??Also what is your timeline???

Its still possible that the PR portion can be denied. If you have provided enough quality evidenced to support that your relationship is genuine then it is just a matter of hurry up and wait.
Under the current strike conditions I would advise those still waiting to inundate your MP with emails and personal visits in an effort to pressure the government to resolve the issues with PAFSO members.
