For LCP regarding work permit

Hi everyone, im a live in caregiver i came here may 5,2011 and i gonna finish my full time live in caregiver 24 months next year may 4,2013.my work permit will expire may 4,2013.do i need to extend my work permit with the same employer?or it is possible if i can apply my open permit n pr before my work permit expires may 4,2013.i hope you can help me...thanks

No, you're not qualified yet, unless you're applying under option 2- 3900 hours in 22 months. you should renew/extend your WP before it expires to maintain your status, be eligible for health care, etc
