flying to Canada via 3rd country

would like to know if i need to take another PCR test to travel to Canada in Germany since i have Connected Flight . My flight will be from Tunisia-Germany-Canada with 4 hours transit in the same airport. The test from Tunisia will be valid while i am in transit in Frankfort. So my question here do i need to take another test so i can board my flight ? or the valid one from the departure country is enough ? the information on the web are confusing me.

AFAIK the 3rd country PCR test only applies to people who flew from India or Pakistan. So as long as you depart to Canada within 72 hours of the test you take in Tunisia, you're good to go.

i was confused because airlines is telling me to get another pcr and the embassy refers me to the ircc travel website. and their website has vague information .


You must:

• take the test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your flight to Canada
• • if you have a connecting flight:
  • • the test must be conducted within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada
    • you may need to schedule the test in your transit city
• provide one of the accepted types of tests, not an antigen test
• keep proof of your test results for the 14-day period that begins on the day you enter Canada

To be safe, make sure the test still falls within 72 hours of your landing in Canada. This might be tricky depending on the turnaround time for tests in your country. If you do the test 24 hours before you depart your country (and are guaranteed to get result before boarding), then the test will still be valid by the time you land in Canada, provided your total travel time is not more than 48 hours...

Let's say you took the PCR test in Tunisia on Monday, 8 am Tunisia time. This means your connecting flight from Germany to Canada needs to depart by Thursday, 8 am Tunisia time.

goccha. the total period of the trip is 18 hours . So i think getting the test 24 hours before the the flight is ideal
