Hi Friends,
I have the following questions. Could you please suggest and provide your valuable feedback
1) Shall I take my personal car for landing or by walk should be easy for flag pooling at rainbow bridge - Niagara?
2) I have the USA visa so, shall I do flag polling? Or it is mandatory to cross the USA border if we have USA visa.
3) I got some information that Visa office may ask about goods such as Jewelry imports amounts at boarder if we will import from back home country. Is it true?
4) What kind of documents we need to carry with us?
Your additional suggestion/feedback will be highly appreciated.
I landed at peace bridge and below is my response -
1) Take your car, just more convenient than walking.
2) Flag poling is mandatory if you live in Canada and want to land at the Canadian border. You DON'T need to cross the US border even if you have a visa - just go to the US border and tell them you want to flag pole back to the Canadian side to do your landing. If you want to cross into USA, that's your decision - but it is not necessary.
3) Yes, that's true. They will ask you if you need to bring any personal items into Canada at that moment OR if its coming at a later date. They ask you this because since you are "landing and becoming a permanent resident" then you are entitled to bring your personal items without having to pay taxes on them.
4) All immigration related documents and your bank statement (Bank statement is precautionary).
I landed last week only through my car. It was smooth process.
