We are finally ready to send in our STACK of papers for the Family Sponsorship, Spouse Application.
We both currently live in the United States.
I just want to make sure we are sending our packet into the CPC: Mississauga Office.
The Guide form 3900 says Mississauga, but on the CIC website, when I click for where to send, it brings up the Ottawa office. But maybe I'm doing this wrong?
For outland Spousal/common-law/conjugal sponsorships it's Mississauga. They will then probably send your application to Ottawa once the sponsor has been approved.
You might be very lucky. USA applicants were the first approved from the month when we applied.
Some were approved as fast as 4 months after their application date which was totally incredible.
But I don't want to get your hopes too high on the timeline. I think there was a push on at that time to do simple applications
very quickly and spend more time cleaning up the backlog. They may be back to more normal processing right now
instead of having extra resources processing the applications to keep the processing times down.
I applied middle of May and like many others I'm still waiting, but my application is overseas from a country requiring travel visas, which means it would be expected to take longer than an American application for example.
Good Luck with your application.
Yes I've read many different wait times, specifically for out land from the United States. I've read anything from 2.5 months, to 4, to 6, to 8 and the CIC website currently says 17.
