Filling Refugee Travel Document Form

Hi,

I got my permanent residence status under protected person program and my previous refugee travel document is about to expire. I want to apply to Refugee Travel Document again but I am not sure if I will get Refugee Travel Document or Certificate of Identity. I heard even if I have PR I still can get Refugee Travel Document with validity of 5 years. When filling the PPTC 190 form, what should I put as a proof immigration status in Canada? Permanent Residence Card or Notice of Decision? If I put Permanent Residence Card as proof of status, will I be issued Certificate of Identity instead of Refugee Travel Document or they will check my protected person status as well even I told them I am Permanent Resident? What do you recommend?

1. PR card, code has your original status.
2. Moot point at the moment, as Passport office is NOT issuing Refugee TD at the moment, only in urgent cases.

I will apply when passport office return to normal service. In that situation I will put my PR cad but will I be issued certificate of identity because of this PR status?

1-when you get PR after apply refugee first time?

2-can travel any where using RTD?

3- once hearing done and you get decision done after that when can apply Citizenship?

hi, if you are applying RTD first time after your positive decision you will get 2 years and After PR you are entitle to get it for 5 years validation, again its up to the office too.

Hey @Alikhan115674, With RTD you can travel anywhere except your home country and the country do not accept RTD (such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia (only umrah and Hajj with PR), Oman, Bahrain any many more.)
Once hearing done, you apply for PR and it take about 1-2 years then you have to complete 3 years living in Canada to apply for citizenship (you must be physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for 1,095 days within the five (5) years).
