Cashier check for 2 people should be around $1100 canadian.
But if i draw on a US bank, will i have to draw more than $1100 (In case the bank i draw does not have a branch in canada)

I would suggest you to get the check from a bank that has got a branch in Canada. I am not sure in which country you are but I believe HSBC should be there around. You will have to see.
You will have to overdraw the check if you get it from a bank that doesn't have a branch in Canada. But, don't take any chances. You can get it overdrawn by $100-200 CAD. I believe CCIC will refund the additional amount. But, I would still suggest you to get it from a Bank which has got a branch in Canda.
