I have recently applied for PR under CEC and I see that CIC has charged the fee to my credit card. It has been 2 days since then I have not received any email notification from them (I had provided my email ID on the application).
1. Is this a sign that my application has been rejected?
2. How long do they typically take to charge the fee and notify via email?

Don't worry about it. Had they not charged you the fee, then you could have said that your application was being sent back. You will get the AOR and the receipt for the fee soon.
Its just that for some of my colleagues, who had applied few months before, they got the AOR# more or less at the same date when the fee was charged to them. Thats why I have been wondering more about why that did not happen in my case.

2. How long do they typically take to charge the fee and notify via email? You should receive it with couple of weeks from the date CC was charged.
UCI# is the unique identifier assigned to you for your work permit/study permit etc. Look at your permit and you will see a number in XXXX-XXXX format. That's your UCI.
