Fee charged but no file number yet

I send my application in October 2010 and CIC charged my credit card on 03 Nov 2010 but till today I haven't heard anything from CIC. Is it normal? I saw people in this forum who sent their papers later and got file number. Is there any type of background verification by CIC?
Can anyone let me know whom should I contact for my file number?

Hi

Just wait you will get it soon, i have seen people getting 1st AOR 2 months after cic charged them the fees. So its normal just wait.

Don't worry. They took my fee on 17Sep,2010 and issue 1st AOR on 24Nov,2010.
So, get patient
