hi
i have sent my application for permanent residence on dec 22 to cic and cic recieved it on dec 29, 2010. it as been two months i sent the papers i haven't received any kind of acknowledgment from cic that they recieve my papers can any one tell me how much time it will take to get my file number. i am from india and my noc code is 6242

its taking about anywhere from 3 to 5 months for CIO to respond on positive assesment of an application.........

Looking at current time lines of post Jun 2010 applicants do not worry till end of 5 months and keep on checking your e-mails for any communication from CIO.
 
you may get more people with simillar timeline as yours

Completely right. Be patient mate. You are just entering into a middle of no clear timelines. Set and watch, and check every 5 months for an update.
 
Hello Dinesh,

No need to worry. From the current time line ...CIO is issuing AOR/PER with in 90 days avg. from the day they got file. so count 90 days....from 29 Dec. you will get it around 20-25 March ....
