Hi,
I would like to clarify on below points related to applying for PR under Federal Skilled Worker Category.
1. Can i stay in Canada, if i have applied for PR under Federal Skilled Worker Category and my current WP visa gets expired.
2. If not, what are alternative ways of staying in Canada, till the time PR gets approved.
Regards,
Viraj Rao
1. In order to stay in Canada after your work permit expires, you must either get your work permit extended or apply to change your status to visitor.
2. see 1.
Ok..but to apply for visitor visa, i would require invitation letter, right?

No, why? It might help you get approved if you have an invitation letter from your rich uncle who promises to provide for your needs but if you can show that you have money in the bank, will not need to work illegally to support yourself and only want to wait for your PR, I think you have a good chance to get it.
Thanks Leon...
How much approx. amount needed to be shown in bank account.
Lets take an example...Suppose there is 2 months still to receive PR and my visa has expired.

Viraj Rao
You don't know that it's only 2 months to receive PR, do you? For LICO, they estimate that one person needs about 22,000 a year to survive so about 1830 a month. That would be before taxes though so after taxes, about 1630 for each month you want to stay. Maybe they will let you off with less if you show that your living expenses are less.
