I intend to apply my minor child (17 years old) a Canadian citizenship online using 5(1) option. And I do have a question if anyone makes the application like this:
I and my wife still do not have a citizenship for some reason, but holding PR - in renewed one time. It means I do not hold a citizenship yet, but can I apply my minor child citizenship application alone online using 5(1) option? I saw only people applied using a paper application - due to both parent and child must sign the application. Just wondering if anyone has done this recently this kind of application online and is there is an option to sign online for both?
Any help and information must be very much appreciated.

Hi all. I’ve a doubt in physical presence calculation. I got my study permit on Jan 11 2018 and the expiry date is Nov 11 2018 I applied for extension and that approved on Dec 15,2018 expired on July 2019 I again applied that expired on August 2020. My question is what should I do between the waiting period for approval. It doesn’t calculate those days
You would have been on implied status. This means that you would still be considered on student until a decision was made on the new application. The calculation considers this time as long as you applied for the extension before the old permit expired. So it is really a continuous status as a student. Nothing to worry about.
