I'd called the call centre for some unrelated work and while chatting with the rep (he was quite frank and helpful), he told me that even though the thing says "Discover Canada was mailed out", due to the pandemic they're actually not mailing anything out. He directed me to the PDF to download and read by myself.
If you meant 2020 then yes. I dont think anyone has had any citizenship tests since Feb-March 2020. So there is chance people who applied back in Sept-Oct 2019 are still waiting to to give their tests. Can't even imagine the test backlog at this point (tens of thousands of people waiting)

yup! So saying you need it urgently doesn’t really help right ? Urgent or not they can’t give you a test.. ya im from June 2019 and in processing since sept 2019.. happy days

Yeah - dont think so. Until CIC figures out a way to hold tests, we will all be waiting with an evergrowing backlog of people waiting to take tests. I am sure CIC wants to clear the backlog as it doesn't help them too.
Atleast we all have PRs which can be renewed for $50 if neeed while we wait.
Hi all, would be greatly appreciated if I could hear your thoughts.
I have applied alone for citizenship in February. And 2 weeks later, my wife and our 10-year old son applied as a family. Both packages went well so far (AOR/In progress).
Unfortunately, my wife has to be outside Canada for a while and we are not sure if she will be able to take the test on time. How will the delay/failure of my wife's application affect our son's application? Regardless of my wife's application, we want to make his application granted ASAP because he stays with me in Canada.
I have thought of three possibilities,
- Would it be possible to switch my son to be my dependant applicant at this point?
- Will IRCC let my 10-yr old son's application get progressed independently if my wife's delays?
- Would it be better to re-apply for my son ASAP?
