Hi my old passport expired 2014/09/17
And my new passport issued on 2014/08/06. In your case, if you had your PR card why does it matter to have a gap between your old and new passports ?
Hey, If you have any gap between passport they want an explanation and your file will be returned because of that gap. After my file returned, I did some research and found people got their file return because of the gap between passport.
I wasn't expecting my file to return and even though I never thought of this minor gap between my passports
I resubmitted an application with explanation that I had no plans to travel that's why there is gap
Thank you,

In your case, you always had a valid passport and you should be fine. Because in my case, I was without passport for 20 days even though my new passport was in process.
Hi I signed both parent and child signature box for my minors I’m not sure what will happen I sent my folder today from Calgary

That means you don't have a gap between your passports. You're fine. People who have a gap meaning they don't have any valid passport for any number of days. need to provide an explanation why that is. It's not a problem, just that IRCC needs an explanation.
Hello everyone,
On my eligibility period I am working on 1 employer only, (straight for 5 years). When I get my PR status I went for a part time job, so there is gap on my second job. Do I need to write an explanation for this? please help,
Thank you

no, as long as you had one main job, gaps in your part time jobs is fine. The idea is this: At any given month, there should be at least one thing in your list that you were doing. So it's only important to avoid completely empty periods where there is nothing listed at all.
A question for you
Question 11
Regarding Employment/Unemployed/School-
Where were you physically located?
Does it mean question is asking for my home address or office address? Anyone please. Just confirming. Thank you.
Question 10 = home addresses
Question 11 = work/school addresses or unemployed notation
sorry for the delay

One more question from my friend:
He's passport is going to expire this coming April, 2018. He's going to submit his citizenship application this February, by the time he will go for his interview (hopefully), he doesn't, have a valid passport.Do you think guys, he needs to renew his passport? what are the requirements for interview?
thank you

No, he doesn't need to, unless he wants to travel obviously. He may have to explain the reason for not renewing it during the interview, if asked.
