No particular reason was given, in fact I was told no action is required of me at this time other than "wait until you hear from us.

It doesn't matter which airport you landed when entering Canada for the first time, your final destination is what matters.

It doesn't matter even if you decide to stay for 1 month, as long as your final intended destination is Alberta.
