So I spoke with someone named Tony on the CIC phone... He said he never heard of a misplaced application before. And apparently my file is known to the entire CIC call centre office because he said his colleagues recognized the file when he asked them about it. :|

Why the hell would we be the only application in history to be misplaced like that???

Of course they're going to say that! It's not like they're going to admit to being a bunch of dimwits. Trust me, the call center agents are just like you and me...they know very little...they are clueless and worthless...they should get rid of the call center altogether and come up with a better system for communicating with the 'client'.

What was the result of your call? Are they all over it? I really hope they sort you out so that you don't have a nervous breakdown!

I think the guy is telling a little white lie........human error happens and someone made a mistake...telling you it has never happened before is not the brightest idea this man has had..........having said that if you are known all over CIC maybe that will speed things up for them to get this corrected

I've sent a letter by fax as to the whereabouts of my application, hope they do something about it, cannot get through via telephone...can't afford to pay the phone bills anymore!! I'll let you all know how I get on! :-X

Thanks KJG.......i said last week was our week and you got yours and I didn't, so I am not saying anything about the weeks this week. What happens, happens. Sometimes I get my hopes up and then all weekend I am depressed because I didn't hear anything, well not this week. I am not even hoping, if I get it, I get it, if I don't, then I don't.

I don't mean to be Debbie Downer but how can you get approved without a marriage license in your application? I don't think it's possible. Maybe there is something I don't know.

yes...but you will probably get an aor and/or a letter stating the information is missing so at least you know your file has been opened/received.....and you will have a UCI number and once you submit the missing information your file will be worked on again...

In the first stage I believe they more focus on the sponsor's requirements, like if the sponsor applied an immigration loan and didn't pay it back, declaring bankruptcy, criminality, previous sponsorships, gov't asistance, welfare, previous marriages, child support payments, court orders etc. If the sponsor meets their requirements then they send the file to sponsored person's visa office. Checking the marriage license should be done by the VO abroad. This is my personal opinion only, not a fact.
