You or your spouse must have gotten an approval letter, right? If so, whatever the date the approval letter dated on is technically the day your file is transferred to a visa office abroad (in your case it is New Delhi). So, that's the 'file transferred' date I was talking about.
To make is simple, when did you guys receive the approval letter?
Lucky you at least you got the PPR. My wife hasn't got the passport request (PPR) yet. Her file was transferred to New Delhi VO on May 23, 2012. How long did it before getting the PPR for you?

Thanks, Indiagal. Well, on your earlier post you said that your passport was mailed in on May 16th. So, I am sure you can't go by the approval date of May 23rd... for sure your file was transferred on April 23rd or soon after. Anyways, what I heard from a fried of mine is that it could take up to 6 weeks before they mail the passport back (at least that was the case when he sponsored his wife late last year.. that is no interview, no other problem with his wife's application).
My wife is still waiting for her passport request. I got the approval letter/file transfer on May 23rd. So, it is about time (over a month now) that they should have sent a PPR email to my wife... but nothing so far. :-(
Hi Indocan,
It took just under 6 weeks for my husband to get his PPR, I kind of noticed that a few people that rec'd approvals since May are taking longer than the avg 2 weeks. They might just be a little slower at issuing PPR with a higher volume of applicants? just a theory im going by.
I just changed my address with ecas to my Canadian address. I re-established residency on April 19 when we crossed the border and did the B4 business. I was there for almost a month and am back in California with my husband until he gets his PR. I still feel like I live in the US though. But I am using an Ontario driver's license.
Ecas has an OLD address from two years ago from another application. Our application had the new address of course but I wonder if they sent our approval letter to the OLD address?
They won't mail anything to Canada right? It is my parent's address so I will still get it but everything goes to my husband's address now right?
I have written to CPC Mississauga and Canadian High Commission in London (Im am applying from outland), just waiting on their reply. Its funny, i haven't got any communication. I did send my application recorded air sure from England and it was delivered on 7 Feb 2012 but nothing yet.
I'm totally with you on the keeping my hopes low!! I had really thought that we would be looking to move up to Canada by August when we sent our paperwork back in February! Now I'm just trying to keep hope that we don't have to re-do my husbands medical that is up on December 15 ??? and I'm still not holding my breath on even that one! I mean I've had our UCI for over a week and I still can't log into it!
I am an early February applicant and i still have not heard anything from CIC. Tomorrow i will be sending a fax to them since it´s hard trying to talk to someone from the call centre.
