Dear Friends,
I am new here just received my ITA four days ago. I am a non immigrant living on a work visa in US. I just realized that FBI clearance takes more than 3 months and ITA is valid only for 90 days. I have sent my docs for FBI clearance yesterday and as per your experiences and timelines it looks like my case will exceed the ITA time limit.
Please suggest on what steps to take if FBI clearance gets delayed. Should I decline the ITA and wait for next draw? Please let me know.
Also if all other docs are present and if I am only waiting for FBI PCC, what is the process for requesting extension? should I complete the ITA application along with a letter of extension?
Appreciate all your answers..Thanks Amrith
Can someone please clarify this: Both my wife and I need to fill up the background check form separately and mail it along with the fingerprints or should we mail everything in one envelope to the fbi office?

Hello,
Did anyone with September 15th delivery date receive any update. Customer service informed that they have started processing 9/15 applications yesterday. But no credit card charge so far.

Don't have to decline the ITA.
Just provide the scanned copy of tracking numbers, delivery confirmation page, application form, credit card payment form for each applicant in Letter of Explanation (LOE) document.
Submit the PR application on the day your ITA expires. CIC usually gives 60 days extension. If it takes longer to get your FBI PCC, you could ask CIC for another extension.

I would suggest to not decline your ITA. IRCC knows about the delay and grants extensions. Sometimes more than one. In my case I was granted an extension because I submitted an LOE with tracking receipt, payment receipt and proof of delivery.
The only thing to keep in mind is to submit your application around the 60 day mark when you have 30 days left out of 90. This way in a week youll pass your medicals and theyll give you a 60 day extension within which you will receive the FBI PCC.
