After the passport is stamped with a single-entry visa (if you are from a country that needs a visa for Canada), you will receive the CoPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). The CoPR must be used to "activate" the PR status by landing using the visa prior to expiry of the medical tests (expiry 1y from test).
