Personal Request to Anyone Calling up the FBI:
You can call up the FBI at (304) 625-5590 8 AM to 8 PM Eastern, Mon to Fri.
If you happen to call up the FBI for any reason, at the end of your call please, please, please ask them the Golden Question ;D:
What is the receipt date of the applicants they are processing today?
If you find out this information, please post in this thread. This would help other's on this thread :-* to estimate when they would get theirs.
My guess is that ever since the IT upgrade, they were processing applications received on Aug 5. And for the next month and a half, it has stayed on the same date. In fact I think next week they would increase the message on their estimate from 12 weeks to something greater, because they don't seem to be have done anything since the IT upgrade.
To those who have sent the FBI Application more than 3 to 4 weeks ago:
Please call up the FBI to make sure your application is in their system, and complete. One of the members found out that they lost his fingerprints, though he had originally sent it in. You don't want any surprises if this is going to take over 3 months. If you can, try to get your FBI Reference number so that you can help them pull up the application again the next time you call. (It is a 7 digit number, all digits.) Finally, don't forget to ask them the Golden Question
Finally, to those who have not yet applied:
Please apply immediately, and send multiple fingerprints. That way if one gets rejected, they can use the alternate.
Well, I am also little worried about fingerprints. Hope they get accepted. does anyone know in case they want new fingerprints, will they push your application back to 12 week queue?
NDVO did give me extra 6 weeks till 30th dec to submit FBI PCC. But I still sent them my last year's FBI PCC along with RPRF, MR etc..
Who knows they just might accept it
I got this FBI PCC on July 26th 2013 and left USA on sept 30th 2013 and since have been in India.

Hi! Mine was received by the FBI on September 2 (the day after the labor day) and the credit card was charged on September 23rd. I thought I will wait for the report to submit my application to the CIC. Luckily I did not wait for the FBI clearance certificate to send in my application. My application was received by the CIC on October 2nd, but I am yet to receive my FBI clearance certificate.
as mentioned in post above, here is fbi phone number. 304-625-5590
They might give you standard answer that it will be done by 2nd dec. But if they let you know what date applications they are processing right now, it would be help, please let us all know.

Hi All,
Any idea on how to provide the reference for your application number during your call with FBI?
Is it your passport number?

immig_IT_guy - The first time you call up the FBI
(304-625-5590) neither you nor them know your Reference Number. If your application has already been entered into their system
(typically 3 to 4 weeks after they receive it) they can pull up your application by your name, DOB, your zipcode etc. Once they have pulled up your application, you can request the person who you are speaking to, to give your application Reference Number. Mine was a 7 digit number with all digits.
This Reference Number only helps you in your future calls with them - that way they can pull up your application more quickly, instead of doing a search.

bakshivishal - I have no clue what happens if the FBI rejects the fingerprints. If you send multiple, and one of them is not good enough they would try the next one. If there are no good fingerprints, they may reject it entirely??? I have no clue.
There is a member here, who sent fingerprints, but the FBI claimed they did not receive it. He did not get any notice/rejection letter. So it is good to call them after 3 weeks of receipt. When he sent the fingerprints, they seemed to tell him that they would consider his application date as the date of fingerprints, not the original application date. So it is a possibility that they would push your application to the end of the 12 week queue.
Finally, some people I have talked to at the FBI
(yes, every time I talk to a different person, I got a whole new "version" of how they system works) seem to say that every piece of mail they receive is tracked and evaluated in its own right as an application, and accepted/rejected accordingly. So you cannot send them additional fingerprints. This forced me to send an additional application, because I got tired of fighting with them :-\

ren21 - I am in the US, so my mailing address is the same as my real address. In my case that's what I put in.
There are some here, who are outside the US, but have the FBI report mailed to a local US address. In that case I have no clue what to put in, but I suggest putting the international address here. I think the report would be mailed to the address you gave on the application form. This is just a suggestion, I am not sure.
As far as reasons for fingerprinting, the first time I put: "FBI". The second time I submitted additional copies for state PCC checks so I put in "Criminal Background Check". I don't think it matter's though.
Some employers in the US
(e.g. those that have jobs requiring a security clearance) have their employees do the FBI PCC. This does not apply to you, since you are doing this for CIC. In my case I left the
employer address blank
when you say multiple copies, where should we give multiple impressions?is it on a plain paper or print the same page multiple times?
also , i am=nd my husband want to apply as family- the insyructions say 'all applicants must sigbn..." so both of us should sign in the same box ?
