Everyone applied and everyone attended the hearing.

Ok then everyone should be fine even if the primary applicant returns to their home country. Would expect that they will face extra scrutiny when they apply for other immigration programs given that it will not be viewed very well that a family came to Canada and got asylum based on the one parent’s evidence off persecution and then that parent left. Although perfectly legal it will not be viewed very well. Does the adult ever want to return to Canada?

I don't think the principal applicant plans to return if they left.
