Hello folks! It's been a while!
I would appreciate some help/thoughts on this.
I'll try to be brief. My fiance and I hired a lawyer for assistance in processing his Canadian LMO who turned out to be a fake lawyer. We wasted months in this process, only to come out with nothing, and we had to start the process all over again. Because of this, his status expired Sep 7 2013. We were supposed to have a response for the LMO by the end of September (he has stayed in Canada, and we were planning on attempting to restore his status after the 90 day period) but has taken way too long, and we are still awaiting a response. The 90-day period for restoration ends on Dec 7, 2013, so at this point we are thinking he would have to go back home, and hope the LMO is positive, then go from there.
QUESTIONS:
- Are there any other options to keep him here I am not thinking of or that you would suggest?
- Is it a problem for him to leave the country while awaiting response for the LMO? As far as I understand, LMO does not give implied status, does it?
I am not able to sponsor him for residency because I myself just recently became a PR myself, so that is
out.
Any other thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated.. we are at our wits' end and are ultimately trying to avoid being separated for a long period if possible. If any more info is needed that I did not include please let me know.
Thank you so much.
