Hi guys.. I’d be very glad if anyone can help me with my queries.

1. I am an F1 student in the US, i would like to do a post grad diploma in Canada, can I apply from here? Or do I have to apply from my home country philippines? Can I do it my own or is it better to go through an agency?

2. My partner is with me in the US and previously on F1 but fell out of status. He’s Indian. If I can get study permit for Canada, can he be my dependent? Does he have to apply from India? Will his overstay have a negative effect?

1, Yes, you can apply from the U.S. You can either apply on your own or through a consultant / laywer. Most people here have applied on their own.
2. If your parnter is out of status in the U.S., there is no chance a visa to Canada will be approved. Yes, your partner would need to return to India to have any chance of a Canadian visa being approved. Even then, it will not be certain.
